Eligibility Criteria
Key Program Features
Candidates must have completed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subjects from a recognized board. The course is affiliated with the Indian Maritime University (IMU) and is DG Shipping Approved.
Minimum Marks:
- Aggregate Marks in PCM: 60%
- English Subject Marks: 50% in either 10th or 12th Standard
Note:
Candidates must obtain a valid IMU-CET Rank to be eligible for admission. Candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a DG Shipping-approved doctor. The Medical Fitness Test can also be conducted by the institution's in-house DG Shipping-approved doctor, with additional charges applicable. Passport is mandatory as per DG Shipping guidelines to join the course. Admissions are contingent upon fulfilling all academic and physical fitness criteria.

Medical Examination
Eye-Sight:
Candidates must possess good binocular vision (Fusion faculty and full field of vision in both eyes). Movement of the eyeballs must be full in all directions and the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation. Normal colour vision shall be tested by Ishihara Test Chart. Distance Vision unaided 0.5*(6/12) in each eye or 0.67*(6/9) in better eye and0.33*(6/18) in another eye.
Eye Health:
There shall be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye or of the lids of either eye which may be liable to risk of aggravation or recurrence.
Physical Fitness:
Candidates seeking admission to this Marine Engineering Programme must be medically fit including eye sight and hearing as prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000, as amended.
Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET)
All candidates applying for the B.Tech Marine Engineering course are required to appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Indian Maritime University (IMU).

Examination Fees & yearly IMU Programme Fees are additional and must be paid to the Indian Maritime University (IMU). The course fees can be paid Semester-Wise from the 2nd Year onwards. Passport is mandatory to join the course as per D. G. Shipping Guidelines. Caution Deposit is refundable at the end of the course after adjusting laundry charges, damages, breakages, etc. Fees paid are non-refundable if withdrawn after the course commencement. All fees can be paid online via Net Banking, UPI, Credit Card, and Debit Card. Cash/Cheque payments are not accepted.
