Course Overview
The Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF) course is designed for officers and crew assigned firefighting duties onboard ships. It focuses on leadership during fire incidents, use of firefighting equipment, fire prevention strategies, and coordination of fire parties. The training meets the requirements of STCW Regulation VI/3 and includes practical exercises in fire control and emergency response onboard vessels.

Batch Strength Policy
As per D G Shipping Training Circular No 4 of 2028 MTI’s are directed not to conduct any batch, if the batch strength is less than 25% of the approved intake capacity granted by the Directorate.

Mandatory Requirements
- Medically fit as per DG Shipping norms
- Candidates should have completed minimum one year Sea service or six months sea service and undergone a Pre-Sea training from a DGS approved MTI are eligible.
